A new exhibition by Larry Parkinson will be opening in gallery 2 on the 12th of May at 4.30pm

"Larry Parkinson uses layering to fine effect in his richly imbued paintings. In a process of exposing and recovering the historical layers of the underpainting, Larry’s work is evocative stuff. Dressing up for the devil deals with moral duality and the idea of temptation. Playfully combining images from various sources, including decorative pattern, fruit and manufactured objects, these works subvert tradition while exploring the materiality of the painted artwork"

new pattern BUSTLE BACK MINI

Worn low on the hip and with plenty of attitude the BUSTLE BACK MINI looks positively wicked.  A simple pull-on style with overlapping side splits that go all the way up to the waist.

The pattern is available in Australian sizes 6-12 from our Etsy shop.  The BUSTLE BACK MINI takes just a few hours to make and uses less than a metre of fabric.

We recommend a stretch fabric and this one came from Tessuti in Melbourne; you can use non-stretch however you must then cut the skirt on the bias.

Sunspun

Balls of wool are like candy to me and one of my favourite places to indulge is a beautiful little shop in Canterbury called SunspunHappily Sue is now stocking a selection of our sewing patterns and has the largest range of Rowan fabrics in Australia including many beautiful designs by the ever popular Kaffe Fassett

She was kind enough to give me some to try out, a print called Flora in black designed by Brandon Mably which I used to make up a BUNNY BAG.  I also whipped up some polka dot BLOOMERS and a flowery pair of TRIED & TRUE knickers....adorable!

Sweetie

The SWEETIE knicker is now available as a complete pattern and may be purchased through our Etsy shop.

The pattern is available in Australian sizes 8-14 and has been developed specifically for lightweight woven fabrics.

For our sample we used two Liberty prints; Mauvey in pink for the body and Tatum for the frills.  You can view the entire Liberty fabric range right here.  The lolly pink ribbon was found at L'uccello and Kim also has copies of the pattern in stock.
